On August 8, 1989,
a small gathering of Voorhees business people met at Bowman & Company LLP.
The discussion led to the formation of a local club designed to promote business
in Voorhees Township.
The by-laws that were adopted by
this innovative group set the tone for the years of fellowship that followed.
Their three objectives still hold true today..."to provide a forum for business
persons and businesses in the Voorhees Township area to meet, and to share and
discuss concerns and interest of civic, commercial, cultural, or economic nature:
to facilitate a dialogue between the local business community and elected officials;
and to channel the energies and resources of member businesses into improving
the local community.
    Our community has certainly
benefited
as a direct result of this organization. Each year, Eastern Regional High School
graduates profit from scholarship funds generated by our renowned "50/50s".
Families in need of assistance around the winter holidays are provided with gifts
and food from our annual Giving Tree event. Young entrepreneurs and professionals
experience life in the real world through the Take a Student to Work exchange
program. New and existing business persons meet and exchange ideas monthly at
luncheons.

    This coming year marks the
15th anniversary of the Voorhees Business
Association. Look for new and innovative events. With over 100 active members,
this website will enable everyone to capitalize on each other's expertise and
keep up-to-date with all of the exciting things happening in our community.
